The South Porcupine property is within the Timmins mining camp that has produced over 67 million ounces of gold.

Property Geology

The South Porcupine property is within the Timmins mining camp. This significant land package covers an iron formation occurring within mafic to ultramafic flows around the Bob's Lake granodiorite intrusion. In the southern half of the property, intermediate to felsic tuffs to lapilli tuffs, mafic volcanics and ultramafic flows occur. This volcanic stratigraphy is folded by the Whitney anticlinal structure.

Historical Highlights

Historical gold showings are reported to occur on the property, but have not been confirmed by GCR geologists. South of the property nickel showings within ultramafic flow sequences are present.

Work Completed to Date

In 2007, an airborne VTEM survey was flown over the property. Numerous VTEM conductors were detected.

Exploration work on the South Porcupine Property in 2008 consisted of geological mapping and prospecting of VTEM airborne anomaly clusters. It also included rock sampling of old pits and trenches found in three areas on the property. Eight VTEM airborne anomaly cluster areas were prospected in the central and southern parts of the property and all were alder or spruce bog swamp covered with no bedrock exposure.
